The sherpa side is absurdly soft and the bonded layers haven’t shifted a bit after three washes, so the waterproof backing still does its job perfectly. Honestly wasn’t sure how much we’d actually use it, but the sherpa side is so cozy that we leave it out on the couch now, even when we’re just watching TV. And it truly is waterproof on both sides, which saved our mattress more than once already.
The micro-velvet side feels smooth and cool against the skin, which is a nice contrast to the plush sherpa on the reverse. It’s fully waterproof on both sides, so I don’t have to worry about soaking through, though the boundary between the two textures takes a little getting used to.
