The fringe tips give a light, teasing sting instead of a sharp crack, which is exactly what I wanted for warming things up. The handle feels balanced and easy to control even for a beginner like me.
I wasn't sure the franges would make much difference, but they give a surprisingly sharp little snap instead of a dull thud. Light enough to control easily, and my partner says the sound alone is half the fun.
The fringe tips give a nice stinging flick without leaving welts, which is exactly what we were after. Took a couple of tries to find the right swing, but now it's a regular part of our evenings.
